Dr. Konstantinos Anastassakis MD, PhD, ABHRS
Scientific Director of Anastasakis Hair Clinic, is a specialized Hair Transplant Surgeon and a Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS).
Recognized for his scientific expertise, unwavering medical ethics, and professional excellence demonstrated through hundreds of natural and outstanding hair transplant results, Dr. Anastasakis was elected by the ABHRS membership body to serve on the ABHRS Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2018, for a three-year term. This marks the first time a Greek physician has held such a prestigious position in the highest governing body of the ABHRS.
Dr. Anastasakis is also the first Greek doctor to be certified as a Diplomate of the ABHRS, a distinguished qualification for specialists in follicular unit hair transplantation. Since 2016, he has served annually as an oral examiner in the rigorous ABHRS certification exams, evaluating new physician candidates. His active involvement in advancing hair transplantation techniques has been instrumental in his election to the ABHRS Board of Directors.
Dr. Anastasakis is an active member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) and has been actively participating in all ISHRS conferences since 2009 through lectures and presentations. In October 2017, he served on the organizing committee and as Chair of one of the most important sessions of the ABHRS & ISHRS annual meeting in Prague — the Morbidity & Mortality Conference. This session achieved 100% attendance and received outstanding feedback from the attending physician members.
This marked the FIRST TIME a Greek follicular unit transplant surgeon took an organizational leadership role in the world-renowned ISHRS conference and was honored for his exceptional contribution as Chair of the session.
ISHRS has once again selected Dr. Konstantinos Anastasaki, MD, PhD, to serve as Chair of the Morbidity & Mortality Conference at this year’s 26th Annual Meeting in Hollywood, USA. As a member of the organizing committee, he will reprise his role, with the organizers noting in their invitation:
“We believe you will be a valuable contributor in this role again.”
Finally, as a member of the ISHRS, Dr. Konstantinos Anastasaki, MD, PhD, participates in the Ad Hoc Committee on Regulatory Issues – Subcommittee on European Standards. This committee’s mission is to continuously monitor and update information regarding hair transplantation regulations across various regions worldwide and to provide advisory input on matters concerning the ISHRS to health authorities within the European Commission.
Dr. Konstantinos Anastasaki, MD, PhD, also serves on the ISHRS Continuing Medical Education (CME) Committee, which oversees all ISHRS activities and programs related to ongoing medical education. The committee ensures compliance with accreditation guidelines set by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
From March 8 to 10, the ISHRS World Live Surgery Workshop (WLSW) will take place in Dubai. Dr. Anastasaki is an official invited guest among dozens of world-renowned colleagues and serves as a member of the WLSW organizing committee. The workshop aims to educate attendees on the latest hair transplantation techniques through lectures, discussions, and live surgical demonstrations.
Dr. Konstantinos Anastasaki has accepted a similar invitation to participate in the workshop organized by the ISHRS in collaboration with the Aesthetic Academy of Egypt, scheduled to take place in Egypt in September 2018. In this event, Dr. Anastasaki is the only Greek physician invited to join the organizing committee, officially representing the ISHRS.
Even in Greece, where it is often difficult to accept authorities and recognize success, Dr. Konstantinos Anastasaki’s career in hair transplantation has established him as one of the top physicians in the field, earning widespread recognition and respect. Accordingly, he will participate as an instructor in the Hair Transplantation session at the upcoming scientific conference on Dermatosurgery, Aesthetic Dermatology, and Laser, held in Athens in early February.
