It’s entirely up to you whether you want to remove the hairpiece completely, forget about it, and free yourself from it — or if you’d prefer to use it during the healing phase, until your new hair grows in, to cover the thinning areas.
In any case, during the first few days after the hair transplant you cannot wear a hairpiece. Later on, in consultation with me, we can work out a strategy to make sure your appearance doesn’t change noticeably during the waiting period until the new hair grows.
What you need to remember, though, is that no hair transplant can provide the same ultra-dense — and often unnatural — look of a hairpiece. Your expectations should be realistic. Your new look will be far more natural, age-appropriate, and you’ll leave behind forever all the problems, worries, and expenses that come with wearing a hairpiece.
