Dr. Konstantinos Anastasakis, MD, PhD, is the only Greek physician selected as a member of the organizing committee for the 25th ISHRS World Congress, taking place October 4–7 in Prague.
The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) is the global, non-profit organization dedicated to hair loss and surgical hair restoration. With over 1,200 members across 72 countries worldwide, the ISHRS annually hosts the World Congress where member physicians gather to present advancements, exchange ideas, and share experiences—all aimed at improving the quality of hair transplantation.
This year, the ISHRS is holding its 25th World Congress in Prague from October 4 to 7. The expertise, knowledge, and specialization of Dr. Konstantinos Anastasakis, MD, PhD, Scientific Director of Anastasakis Hair Clinic, are globally recognized in the field of hair transplantation. His unanimous selection as a member of the Scientific and Organizing Committee for the 25th ISHRS World Congress stands as a testament to his distinguished reputation in the industry.
This is the first time a Greek hair follicle transplant surgeon has taken on an organizing role in the execution of the ISHRS World Congress. Since 2009, Dr. Konstantinos Anastasakis has been an active participant in all ISHRS conferences, delivering lectures and presentations. Over the past two years, he has also chaired two roundtable discussions focusing on educating new ISHRS members and on hair transplantation in young patients.
Furthermore, as a diplomate of the ABHRS, Dr. Anastasakis has been serving since 2015 on the ABHRS examination committee, responsible for conducting oral examinations for physicians seeking ABHRS certification.
Most importantly, at this year’s ISHRS Congress in Prague, Dr. Konstantinos Anastasakis will also serve as the Chair of one of the most critical sessions of the ABHRS & ISHRS—the Morbidity & Mortality Conference.
This conference is exclusively attended by physicians with proven professional experience, where data from complex hair transplantation cases involving challenges and complications are presented. The goal is to inform and educate physicians on these rare cases and how best to manage them. As one of the conference’s most pivotal sessions, the Chair must possess exceptional knowledge, thorough training, and extensive professional expertise.
Dr. Anastasakis has also been appointed to the Ad Hoc Committee on Regulatory Issues – Subcommittee on European Standards, which monitors regulatory updates across the globe and advises the ISHRS Board of Governors on related matters.
Additionally, Dr. Anastasakis is a member of the ISHRS Continuing Medical Education (CME) Committee, which oversees all ISHRS activities and programs related to ongoing medical education, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards set by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
This year’s ISHRS World Congress celebrates its 25th anniversary and is expected to offer the most comprehensive scientific and educational program in its history, featuring numerous lectures, live surgery workshops, roundtables, scientific presentations, and educational seminars.
