Dr. Konstantinos Anastasakis MD, PhD, at the forefront of developments at the 27th ISHRS World Congress
Once again, Dr. Konstantinos Anastasakis MD, PhD, stands at the center of global advancements in hair transplantation. His dedication and hard work have earned him recognition for consistency, excellence, and integrity from his peers—members of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) and the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS).
With an agenda exceeding 30 contributions including presentations, lectures, and roles as coordinator in meetings and workshops, Dr. Anastasakis embarks on his program at the 27th World Congress and Live Surgery Workshop of the ISHRS, held these days in Bangkok, Thailand.
Never before has a Greek hair transplant surgeon received such recognition from the ISHRS and ABHRS. His numerous contributions to this congress highlight his perseverance and vision, positioning Dr. Anastasakis among the top hair transplant surgeons worldwide.
For yet another year, Dr. Konstantinos Anastasakis, the only Greek physician serving on the ABHRS Board of Directors, will act as an examiner for the written and oral certification exams conducted by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery for hair transplant surgeons.
He also participates in the annual ABHRS Board meeting as an elected member of the Council and delivers two keynote presentations at the ABHRS Advanced/Board Review Course focusing on the training of ISHRS member surgeons in hair transplantation.
As President of the Hellenic Academy of Hair Transplantation (ELAMAT), the local ISHRS chapter in Greece, Dr. Anastasakis attends the official meeting of the ISHRS Global Council, where all presidents of ISHRS local chapters convene.
During the opening speech by ISHRS President Dr. Arthur Tykocinski MD, FISHRS, Dr. Anastasakis presents a patient case study. He is also a keynote speaker at the ISHRS global campaign’s open meeting, “Fight the Fight,” which combats illegal hair transplants performed by unqualified personnel in unauthorized clinics.
Dr. Anastasakis co-moderates a roundtable with Dr. Michael Chang DO focusing on the FUT technique, specifically on improving follicular unit strip extraction (FUT) from the donor area.
He also participates in a closed session of the ISHRS European Chapter addressing regulatory issues of European hair transplantation standards.
Moreover, Dr. Anastasakis has been appointed by ISHRS as Director and Coordinator of the Advanced Workshop titled “The Recipient Area: Incision Making and Graft Placing.” As committee chair, he leads the workshop and delivers two separate lectures on proper design and management of the recipient area for excellent, natural results.
Alongside the world congress, the ISHRS World Live Surgery Workshop is held, where Dr. Anastasakis once again participates as a member of the organizing committee.
He serves as coordinator in the auditorium theater of the Live Surgery Workshop alongside Dr. Sharon Keene MD, FISHRS. In this role as moderator, Dr. Anastasakis analyzes and discusses with the audience—ISHRS physicians in real time—the six live surgery cases of the workshop.
We wish great success to Dr. Anastasakis and his team, who once again proudly represent Greece at the 27th ISHRS World Congress, demonstrating that Greek physicians have achieved worldwide recognition through their excellence and contributions.
