Donor Area: How Many Grafts Do I Actually Have?

Almost every donor area can safely provide 6,000 to 7,000 follicular units.
Each follicular unit can produce anywhere from one to four hairs, with the average being around 2.2 to 2.5 hairs per follicular unit.

However, hair characteristics differ from person to person: some have straight hair, others curly; some have thick hair shafts, others thinner ones. Even factors such as hair color and shine can positively or negatively influence the outcome of a transplant.

Only a specialized surgeon, after examining you in person, can tell you these details and provide a realistic estimate of the final result you can expect from a hair transplant.
