Hair transplantation on the crown requires great skill, experience, dexterity, and aesthetic perception from the surgeon in order to deliver a natural result. The main particularity is that natural hair growth on the crown usually follows 1–2 whorls, most often clockwise, with the hairs growing at slanted angles.
In patients who still have hair on the crown, the whorl pattern is visible and must be followed. In individuals with complete hair loss in that area, the surgeon must design the whorl from scratch during the hair transplant.
