The 8th Annual Conference of the Asian Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons (AAHRS), under the auspices of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), was successfully held in China from June 6 to 9. One of the prominent invited guests was Dr. Konstantinos Anastasakis, the only European hair transplant surgeon invited as an honorary speaker and Instructor Surgeon at the Live Surgery Workshop.
Dr. Konstantinos Anastasakis: An Internationally Recognized Surgeon
Dr. Anastasakis, internationally recognized in the field of hair transplantation, is one of the 220 certified hair transplant surgeons by the ABHRS (American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery) and one of the 139 Fellow Members of the ISHRS (International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery).
Impressive Lectures
During the conference, Dr. Anastasakis presented three lectures titled:
- “Iron deficiency, Anabolic steroids and Botanical extracts in AGA/FPHL”
- “Strip Harvesting – Basic Concepts of Wound Closure”
- “Complications-How to Avoid Placing Disasters”
Dr. Anastasakis’ lectures generated significant interest and impressed the attendees, providing valuable information on hair transplantation and androgenetic alopecia.
Success of the Live Surgery Workshop
The Live Surgery Workshop within the conference had a large attendance and enhanced the reputation of the doctor as a leading expert in the field of hair transplantation. Dr. Anastasakis focused on FUE hair transplantation in men using the unshaven technique, presenting advanced surgical methods and techniques.
Dr. Anastasakis presented his books “Androgenetic Alopecia from A to Z – Vol. 1, 2, and 3” at a special event, following an invitation from the President of AAHRS, Dr. Bertram Ng. The book presentation received tremendous response from the scientific community, which showed great interest in their content. It is a great honorary proposal and recognition of the value of his work, the agreement signed for the translation of the books into Mandarin Chinese, highlighting the international acceptance and significance of Dr. Konstantinos Anastasakis’ scientific contribution and prestige.
Award and Recognition
At a special ceremony during the closing ceremony of the conference, Dr. Anastasakis was awarded by the AAHRS -member of the Global Council of ISHRS-, in recognition of his overall contribution to the field of hair transplantation. This distinction confirms Dr. Anastasakis’ dedication and outstanding contribution to the promotion and development of techniques and practices in the field of hair transplantation.
Dr. Konstantinos Anastassakis
Dr. Konstantinos Anastassakis is a certified hair transplant surgeon based in Athens, Greece, and one of only 220 Diplomates of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) worldwide since 2015. He has served as Treasurer, Secretary, and
Vice President of the ABHRS (2017–2021) and has been an ISHRS member since 2009 and Fellow since 2019.
He maintains an active international academic presence, with more than 120 scientific presentations at conferences and publications in peer-reviewed journals such as Facial Plastic Surgery and international textbooks including Hair Loss Advances and
Treatments, part of the book series, Updates in Clinical Dermatology (Springer, 2024). He is the author of “Androgenetic Alopecia from A to Z” (Springer, 2023) and has contributed chapters in Hair Loss Advances and Treatments, part of the book series,
Updates in Clinical Dermatology (Springer 2024), including “Hair Follicle Cloning and Stem Cells” and “Hair Transplantation—From the ‘Ancient’ 4 mm Plugs to the Latest Follicular Unit Excision Technique: 8 Decades of Painful Progress”. He is also the author of “Paradigm shift from linear strip to follicular unit excision in hair restoration surgery” in Facial Plastic Surgery (2024).
