Hair Loss
Hair is the most “malleable” part of the human body. Hairstyle is one of the most important forms of self-expression and a crucial element of attractiveness and individuality.
As positive as the symbolism of thick, healthy hair is for both men and women, equally negative is the symbolism of hair loss. It is no coincidence that hair loss, regardless of its cause, has a profound emotional impact on those who suffer from it.
Hair Loss: Causes
Hair loss can have many different causes, but in 98% of men and 70% of women, it is due to Androgenetic Alopecia (common baldness).
For the remaining 2% of men and 30% of women, hair shedding is usually temporary or related to an underlying medical condition which, once treated, allows the hair to regrow.
It is important to note that thinning hair is NOT visible to the human eye until at least 50% of the hair density in an area has been lost. This highlights the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.
One thing is certain: if hair loss is not treated, it will continue to progress. Many people mistakenly believe that they will lose hair only up to a certain age and then it will stop. Just look at photos of actors over the years—those who showed early signs of hair thinning in their youth almost always ended up with very little hair as they aged.
In the following sections, we will explore what causes Androgenetic Alopecia and the most effective treatments available today. Fortunately, there are now many proven solutions for hair loss!
